Welcome Spring!

With warmer weather upon us and the sun shinning a lot longer during the day we've been spending a lot of time outside. In fact its been a nightly ritual for the past two weeks. And what a difference a little sunshine makes...we're all in a better mood after burning some energy and breathing some fresh air!
The yard is in bloom and the grass is getting greener so we where inspired this weekend to create a little garden spot in our backyard. We planted 5 different tomato plants, jalapeno peppers, green and red peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini and some herbs. Jeff worked hard and Tucker played in the dirt...the end result we hope to enjoy all summer long!

I love spring and all the color it brings...I couldn't help but share some pictures of the blooms in our yard right now...truly beautiful!

Thank God for Creativity

With no big plans for the weekend and one busy little boy it was time to pull out the big guns and come up with some good old fashion FUN. It's dark outside, he's bored and the whining has begun so what is a Mom to do....Indoor Soccer (yes you head me right indoor soccer). Lucky for us we have a long hall way that is perfect for such events...we just close all the doors and let the games begin. Our next event is an oldie but a goodie....The Clothespin Drop. Now I must warn you this particular game only held his attention for maybe fifteen minutes (hey that was enough time for me to put in a load of wash, unload the dryer and start the folding process the part I hate the most) so no complaints from this Mom.
However, it was time to get a little more creative so I taped up several sheets of paper to the side of our kitchen cabinets handed him the box of crayons and waited to see what masterpiece this artist would creative. (This was actually a Good Idea....so now I'm thinking of hanging a small chalkboard here so he can draw on it when every he feels like it.)
Finally, it's warm enough outside that we can take a walk to the playground down the street from our house.  We took Tucker there about a two weeks ago and ever since then he has said to me everyday, "playground"? Needless to say I can not wait for warmer weather.

With night time around the corner it was time to start thinking about dinner. Something easy that we could eat on for more then one day....Chili. It's still cold here so it sounded pretty good after being outside for an hour or two (what better way to keep Tucker busy then giving him a mixing bowl and a whisk while I made dinner).
With food in our tummies and lots of energy left it was time to see what our little handyman could build...turns out he created a microphone and in several years he might be the next American Idol.

Was this weekend a success....I think so! I may not have gotten the house completely clean or the laundry put away but I did have lots of FUN with Tucker & Jeff. And besides, isn't that what the weekends are all about?

Let it snow, let it snow , let it snow

Remember what it was like as a kid when you woke up to a "Winter Wonderland"? Well a few weeks back Tucker got to experience his first taste of snow. Needless to say in NC we don't always see a lot of snow but even the smallest amount can bring out the kid in you.

Summer Love'n

Here's a few pictures from the Bailey Family beach trip we took back in June. It was loads of fun and lots of babies. We're looking forward to this yearly traditions and the new additions that will be arriving this fall. On this trip Tucker actually took his is first steps and once he figured out how to walk it wasn't long before he was running.

Trip To Grandpa & Grandma T's

This past May we took a trip to CT so Tucker could meet Grandpa & Grandma T and the rest of the Tokarczyk Gang. We had a great time and kept Grandpa & Grandma T really busy keeping Tucker off the steps and out of the cabinets. We are so glad we got to take that trip and we hope to visit again next year.
